CodaScan

CodaScan for WooCommerce — complete setup guide

Install the WordPress plugin on your store, pair a warehouse phone, and capture packing photos even without internet. CodaScan attaches them to the matching WooCommerce order when connectivity returns.

Download the WordPress plugin

Install this ZIP on any WordPress store running WooCommerce. Upload it under Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, then activate CodaScan for WooCommerce.

Requires WordPress 6.0+, WooCommerce 8.0+, and HTTPS on production stores.

Before you start, you will need

  • A CodaScan account (free trial available)
  • The CodaScan app on an iPhone or Android phone (used in the warehouse)
  • WordPress admin access on the store where WooCommerce is installed
  • WooCommerce 8.0 or newer, with HTTPS enabled on production stores

How it works (big picture)

1. Install the plugin

Upload and activate CodaScan for WooCommerce on your WordPress store.

2. Pair your phone

Open WooCommerce → CodaScan in WordPress admin and scan the pairing QR code on the warehouse device.

3. Scan & photograph

Staff scan or enter the order number, take photos online or offline, and CodaScan attaches the queued images to that WooCommerce order.

Tip: the mobile app talks directly to your store REST API. No CodaScan backend credentials are stored in WordPress.

Vorteile im Betrieb

Verlässliche Bildnachweise, überall dort, wo gearbeitet wird

Aufträge · Chargen · Produkte · Anlagen · Prüfungen

01

Setup guide — follow in order

Part A — Get CodaScan on your warehouse phone

Do this first on the phone your team will use to take photos.

  1. Create a CodaScan account

On your computer, go to getcodascan.com and create an account. Complete checkout or start a trial so you have an active license.

  2. Install the CodaScan mobile app

On the warehouse phone, install CodaScan from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).

  3. Activate the license on that phone

Open the activation link from your CodaScan account (or scan the QR code from your account page). The app will register that phone to your license.

Part B — Install CodaScan on WordPress

This connects your WooCommerce store to CodaScan so photos can be saved on each order.

  1. Download the plugin ZIP

Use the download button at the top of this page, or run make publish-woocommerce from the CodaScan repository if you build from source.

  2. Upload in WordPress admin

Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose codascan-woocommerce.zip, then Install Now and Activate Plugin.

  3. Confirm WooCommerce is active

CodaScan for WooCommerce requires WooCommerce. Install or activate WooCommerce first if it is not already running.

Part C — Configure and pair devices

Review storage settings and connect licensed warehouse phones.

  1. Open WooCommerce → CodaScan

Review order meta key, order number format, order notes, and photo storage (WordPress media library or Amazon S3).

  2. Pair the warehouse phone

Scan the pairing QR code shown in WordPress admin, or open the pairing link on the device.

    • On the phone: open CodaScan → Settings → WooCommerce.
    • Scan the QR code or enter the store URL and pairing code manually.
    • Tap Pair. When it succeeds, the phone is linked to your store.
  3. Save the WooCommerce workflow

Choose how order numbers are matched, camera quality, and whether local deletions remove the WooCommerce file. Save the configuration with a clear name.

Part D — Capture photos in the warehouse

  1. Select the WooCommerce workflow

In CodaScan, choose the saved WooCommerce configuration before starting a shift.

  2. Scan or enter the order number

Use the barcode on your packing slip, a QR code, or manual entry for the WooCommerce order number.

  3. Take photos and sync

Capture as many photos as needed. If the connection drops, uploads stay queued and resume automatically when the phone is back online.

Test the workflow

Place a test order, pair a phone, capture one photo, and confirm it appears on the order in WooCommerce admin with a proof link in order notes (if enabled).
